Mrs. Gibson's Kindergarten class is determined to catch a Leprechaun with their tricky traps!
Yesterday, Mrs. Gratiot's 4th grade class had the privilege of a visit from our very own local published poetry author, Penelope Schott! Penelope shared poems from her own book, listened to our poems, and then had students write poems from their pet's point of view about questions they have for their owners. What a wonderful experience this was with a member from the Dufur community!
As DHS students who have exhibited leadership, character, service, and scholarship, five new members were inducted into Dufur's chapter of the National Honor Society on March 14th. The inductees are sophomores Alex Labenske, Cynthia Medina, Tygh Timinsky, Alexis Westfall, and Kaylee Wiles (not pictured).
The new members join juniors and seniors Audrey Anderson, Violet Carrillo, Molly Cochenour, Nathan Coleman, Foster Harvey, Alasey Hodges, JJ Johnston (not pictured), Shyanne Loomis, Maddy Martell (not pictured), Mason Morris, Kali Rockwell, Michael Seitz, Isabelle Shaw, and Maddelynn Tierney.
Congratulations to these outstanding students!
The 3rd Grade and High School Anatomy classes have been learning about body systems lately and recently decided to join for a project about the Skeletal System! They had a great time labeling specific bones and then using different types of pasta to create a model of the human skeleton!
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE), the Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC), and Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) are collaborating to broadcast the importance of registering for kindergarten in the spring. When families register in the spring, they are more likely to attend kindergarten orientations and summer programs, access school and community resources, and experience a positive start to school. If you need to register your student for Kindergarten and live in the Dufur School District, please call (541)467-2509 and ask for Bonnie Lepinski.
A huge Thank you to Bill and Louise Tidwell for their recent donation of an AED, and a four hour First Aid- CPR-AED Class to Dufur School. Bill is a 1970 graduate of Dufur High School. Thanks to the Tidwell family for making Dufur School a safer place to learn and work. Once a Ranger, always a Ranger!

Mrs. Gratiot's 4th grade class celebrated the end of their poetry unit with a Poetry Slam! To set the mood, we dimmed the lights, had a spot light, used a microphone, played coffee house music, snapped instead of clapped, and enjoyed blueberry muffins and hot chocolate while students shared the wonderful poems they wrote! We have some great poets here in 4th grade!
Today Mrs.Welk’s kindergarten celebrated the 100th day! Today's challenges included building a structure out of 100 cups, 100 Lollipop licks, 100 stickers, and writing to 100! Yay for 100 days smarter!!!
Students are invited to join the Rock, Gem, and Mineral Club! See the flyer for details!

Congratulations to the Ranger Boys Basketball Team on a tremendous season. Although they came up short against Crosshill Christian last night, the season just completed was inspiring to all that had the pleasure of watching the Rangers perform. The grit, determination and desire displayed all season long was commendable! Go Rangers!

We spent the day in Salem at the State Capitol on Tuesday, visiting Sen. Hansell and Rep. Smith. We were able to share some of the exciting things that are currently happening at Dufur School; including our School Based Health Center that will be opening in Spring/Summer of 2024 and our CTE programming. Molly Cochenour had the honor on going on the House Floor with Rep. Smith and was able to practice her putting game at his office!
